# Maeko Explodable

Blow anything apart in slow motion, watch the pieces clean themselves up, then rebuild it block by block. It loops forever, so it's perfect for trailers, menus, and satisfying moments in your game.

A free addon by **Maeko Studio**. Requires **Unity 6 or newer** (URP, HDRP or Built-in).

---

## Install

Double-click **MaekoExplodable.unitypackage** and click **Import**. Everything lands in `Assets/Maeko Studio/Explodable`.

Using the zip instead? Keep the folders as they are. `MaekoExplodableBuilder.cs` has to stay inside a folder named **Editor**.

## Quick start (2 minutes)

1. In the top menu, open **Maeko > Explodable > Eiffel Tower (Detailed)**.
2. Press **Play**. It blows after 1.5 seconds. (Try the **Castle** too!)

That's it!

## Blow up your own stuff

1. Select the **parent** of an object that's made of separate child pieces (a building made of walls, a stack of crates, a voxel model).
2. Click **Maeko > Explodable > Make Selected Explodable**.
3. Press **Play**.

It adds physics to every piece, places a blast point low in the middle, and sets everything up for you. A single solid mesh can't come apart on its own, it needs to be built from pieces.

## Settings

Everything lives on the **Maeko Explodable** component.

**Blast**
- **Blast Point**: where the explosion starts. Low and inside the object looks best.
- **Delay**: seconds after Play before it blows. Set to -1 to trigger it yourself (right-click the component > Boom, or call `Boom()` from code).
- **Force / Radius / Upward**: how hard, how far, and how much it lifts. Lower Force and Upward for a slow, heavy collapse.
- **Randomness**: varies the force per piece so it looks natural.

**Slow motion**
- **Slow Mo**: time speed during the blast. Off by default (1). Try 0.2 for a dramatic slow-motion blast.
- **Slow Mo Seconds**: how long it lasts, in real seconds.

**Disappear after landing**
- **Disappear**: pieces shrink away once they land. Needed for Rebuild to work.
- **Rest Speed / Max Lifetime**: raise Rest Speed or lower Max Lifetime to clear the debris faster.
- **Shrink Delay**: spreads the vanishing out into a ripple.

**Rebuild**
- **Rebuild**: pops everything back into place from the bottom up once it's all gone.
- **Rebuild Time / Pop Time**: how long the build wave takes, and how bouncy each piece is.
- **Loop**: blow it up again after rebuilding, forever.

## Tips

- **Big structures lag on the blast.** That's thousands of physics pieces waking up at once. For smoother play, try Project Settings > Physics > Default Solver Iterations 4 and Velocity Iterations 1.
- **Recording a video?** Unity Recorder with Playback set to Constant exports perfectly smooth footage, even if the editor stutters.
- **Slow motion changes `Time.timeScale`** for the whole game while it plays, then puts it back.
- **Scripting:** subscribe to the `Boomed` and `Rebuilt` events to add sounds, camera shake, or anything else.
